Not Yet (2020)
On the day the lockdown was initiated, Chris Lewtas commenced his personal project, 'Not Yet.' Empty streets and nervous chance meetings became a regular occurrence. Amidst the chaos, Chris turned to the thoughtful, slow process of film photography.
For a period, fear consumed us as we sought reassurance and stability. With an overwhelming desire to return to normality, we began asking ourselves 'when?,' only to be told 'Not Yet.' The outcome captured Manchester's reaction to the lockdown. Subsequently, these photos were sold as part of a fundraiser for the NHS. Furthermore, Chris continues to produce work that contributes to charitable causes.
This body of work resulted in a hand crafted Zine, bearing the same title. Now sold out, Not Yet has covertly made its way in libraries, coffee shops and living rooms.
